At the age of 3, my parents signed me up to a local swim team to teach me how to swim. Inspired by my older sister, Nadine, who was also on the team, I fell in love with the sport. The older I got, the more competitive and ambitious I grew. I wanted to explore other ways of improving my swim performance than just practicing. That’s when my fitness journey started. I used anything that was laying at our house as exercise equipment, from water bottles to old gardening tools. I found my passion in getting creative with workouts that are fun and eventually resulted in improved times. That’s when I knew that I wanted to do this for a living.

As a native of Germany, I made the difficult decision to further my athletic and academic career in the United States. To be more precise, I traveled to Canton, OH where I started studying Exercise Science at Malone University. It was also the first time that I was exposed to a  weight room. I got to experience the aftermath of my very first leg day which made it challenging for me to walk for almost an entire week. But, this experience made me eager for more. I went to the weight room during my free time and was exploring new exercises and equipment I have never used before. I found a new love for weightlifting. For anyone who seeks challenge and improvement in any area in life, I think that you need determination and goals to realize what you are capable of. It normally is a lot more than you think you can do. My goal as a personal trainer is to make my future clients realize what they are capable of. It might seem difficult at first, but you will never know until you give it a try.

Another inspiration came from my mother who is a group fitness instructor. After her mother got diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014 and the doctors poorly treated her symptoms, she wanted to help those who are able to recover from cancer. About a year later, my mom passed her cancer rehabilitation certification and she loves every second of helping her clients become healthier again after such a cruel disease. She probably does not even know this, but it’s been my inspiration to this day. And it motivates me to work with those populations as well and I would like to go a step further and coach paralympic athletes one day. I truly believe that anyone can become fit and healthier with the right type of exercise. It is not a one-size fits all; there are so many different ways to create a workout plan according to a client's needs. For now, I am very excited to start working at Intelligent Fitness and can’t wait to build connections with clients and co-workers while working on their fitness.
